Career Mapping
Career Mapping will guide you into doing what you want with your life -- rather than just drifting into a job. Generally, career mapping is based on your skills and interests, career possibilities, and job trends. Once you have chosen a career, think strategically about the steps to accomplish your goal. Understanding and accomplishing your career goal will be a lot easier if you create a CAREER MAP. A career map determines your skills and interests, what career best suits your talents, and what skills and training you need for your chosen career which the Student Counseling Office can assist you.
Private & Group Counseling
The Student Counseling Office assist students, staff, and faculty with personal, family, educational, mental health, and career decisions and problems. Our duties depend on the individuals we serve and on the settings in which we work. We advocate for students and work with other individuals and organizations to promote the academic, career, and personal and social development of LCB students. We help students evaluate their abilities, interests, talents, and personality characteristics in order to develop realistic academic and career goals. The office uses interviews, counseling sessions, tests, or other methods in evaluating and advising students. The Student Counseling Office help LCB students, staff and faculty understand and deal with social, behavioral, and personal problems. We emphasize preventive and developmental counseling to provide everyone with the life skills needed to deal with problems before they occur and to enhance their personal, social, and academic growth. However, our special services are outsourced to various agencies. All counseling sessions are kept confidential.
