Transcripts
Permanent records of students' progress are kept in transcript form. Approximately three weeks is required to process grades, record them, and prepare records for duplication. Therefore, requests for transcripts will not be honored until three weeks after the last class meeting. College transcripts are confidential requiring the student's signature prior to release. Therefore, all requests must be made in person or by mail. Telephone requests cannot be honored. Written requests must include the name under which the student attended the College, the address, the date of attendance at Lewis, and the name and address of the person to whom the transcript should be sent.
A graduate receives one transcript free of charge. There is a fee for each subsequent transcript requested. Transcripts and / or grades will not be released to students who are delinquent in any financial payments to Lewis.
Satisfactory Academic Progress
Satisfactory Academic Progress will be assessed for each student at the end of each academic year by the Student Records Office to determine the student’s eligibility to continue their academic endeavors. The student will be notified in writing from the Financial Aid Office if financial aid is suspended. An appeal procedure for verifiable extenuating or unforeseen circumstances is available to the student. Lewis College of Business cannot waive the Satisfactory Academic Progress requirement for any student.
Withdrawal From College
A student withdrawing from the College must obtain an Official Withdrawal Form from the Student Records Office. The student is required to report to the Admissions Office, the Library, the Business Office, and the Financial Aid Office upon withdrawal from College. All student identification must be relinquished at this time.
Students who withdraw from the College without completing the official withdrawal procedure receives a failing grades for all courses in which those students are enrolled. Students who withdraw but do not follow the withdrawal procedure maybe liable for payment of 100% tuition. Refunds will be made according to published policy. Students are encouraged to make an official withdrawal to assure transcript recording and accurate adjustments (see Tuition Adjustment, Withdrawal).
The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974
This Act guarantees students the right to inspect and review their educational records. It also provides rights of privacy protection by limiting the transfer of students' records without their consent. For specific guidelines of the Act, please contact the Academic Dean.
